Thomas H. Ross

Thomas H. Ross is a graduate of Purdue University in Aeronautical Engineering with a MSc in Industrial Management (MBA equivalent). Tom was President of his Junior Class at Purdue, and President of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Earlier he became the youngest Eagle Scout in Indiana. He has an extensive international business background, having lived 18 years in Europe, Africa and the Middle East as an independent investment specialist and real estate project developer. He currently heads the Palm Beach Business Group, Inc., a business development and networking organization headquartered in Palm Beach, Florida that helps provide venture funding to early stage biotechnology, life science, alternative energy and other technology companies.

Mr. Ross is the Founder and President of BioMune, Inc. Working with James Lipton, MD PhD, developer of the Macrimmune innate immune system stimulator, they developed several plant based products designed for a variety of cancers and immune deficiency diseases. Together they arranged initial pre-clinical testing at Southern Research Institute that indicated the extraordinary efficacy that have led to the current patent portfolio, and attracted the current BioMune team.

As President of Florida BioSciences, LLC (FBS), he supports South Florida as a center for international finance and bioscience. Tom helps scientists with break-through technologies in Florida, including "spin-out" biotechnology companies from the world famous biomedical research institutes  (Scripps, Max Planck, Torrey Pines, Burnham, etc.) raise funding to get these high technology firms to commercialization for the efficient and cost effective treatment of diseases. Technologies include unique immunotherapies and exciting electromagnetic treatments. FBS organized a $400 million early stage biomedical fund by review of over 100 companies' technologies, only to be ready for market in March 2009 when the equities markets collapsed. Accomplishing FBS goals will reward early company  investors, as they "do Good" and therefore "do Well".

As VP and CFO of Invest Africa, Inc. (IAI) Mr. Ross has assisted in arranging for major infrastructure projects in SW Africa, as well as in the trade of high yield commodities. Africa offers huge emerging market opportunities that IAI will help develop on behalf of US and especially Florida companies, while giving back to needed African charitable organizations.

In early 2015 Mr. Ross joined the Board of the Institute for an Open Society in the Middle East (IOSME), a 501c3 organization dedicated to bringing awareness and action toward democracy and improvement in human rights, including women's rights, in the Middle East.  Membership of IOSME is composed of Israelis, Americans, and Jewish and moderate Shia Iranians. The Honorary Chairman of IOSME is His Royal Highness Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi of Iran.

Christopher D. Krause

Dr. Christopher D. Krause attained a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology in 2002 from UMDNJ and Rutgers University under the advisement of the late Dr. Sidney Pestka, one of the pioneers of interferon research and of the biopharmaceutical industry.  Dr. Krause’s work as a graduate student focused on structure of the interferon-gamma receptor complex in live cells and how signaling can be characterized or modified.  As a Postdoctoral Fellow and Adjunct Assistant Professor, he remained in Dr. Pestka’s laboratory to work on two projects.  In one, he continued to develop a novel technology that allowed biophysical analysis of protein complexes to be done in intact cells and in real time.  He studied the structures of several cytokine receptor complexes, including those of interferon-alpha, interferon-gamma, interferon-lambda, and interleukin-10, and developed methodologies to simultaneously analyze multiple protein interactions in cells. In a second, he optimized a plasmid vector system to efficiently express multiple gene-derived biotherapeutics in mesenchymal stem cells, so that biotherapeutics with systemic side effects can be expressed and released locally, simultaneously preserving the effectiveness of the drug, reducing its overall dose and side effects, and avoiding the need to purify the drug.

Since leaving Dr. Pestka’s laboratory, his basic research activities have focused on the genetic and evolutionary biology of interferons (both the proteins and their genes) in vertebrates.  Currently, he teaches various classes in Biologicla Sciences at Indian River State Collge in Fort Pierce, FL.  He also maintains voluntary adjunct appointments at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University and at the Center for Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Florida Atlantic University.  At several universities, Dr. Krause taught a variety of college-level biomedical science courses including microbiology, immunology, genetics, anatomy and physiology, general chemistry.  He is the Chief Scientific Officer at two startup companies (BioMune, specializing in anti-cancer mitogens, and the SoundWell Corp., that sells anti-stress wellness devices).  His entrepreneurial activities are prolific; he is a consultant (about the use of CFS and IFN's), a tutor, and a videographer.  In his free time, he can be found gardening, playing volleyball, cooking, fermenting various edible concoctions, and tinkering with or repairing computers.

J. Michael Gregson

Michael Gregson is currently the Technical Operations Architect for AgilePoint, Inc in Mountain View, Ca.  AgilePoint is the leading cloud based BPM PAAS for businesses in any industry at any scale.  He is responsible for creating and managing the technical support, data security and privacy operations worldwide.

Michael is also the owner of WaveFront Health Technologies and the creator of the CorrStat technology platform and Apps.  His technology career has covered the spectrum from software development to corporate management and marketing.  In the mid-2000s he turned his attention to the Life Sciences with the goal of merging technology with science to make the process of discovering, researching, and developing health products quicker and more efficient.  This led to the creation of WaveFront Clinical Management Services (WCMS) that serviced clients in San Diego and Boston.  WCMS worked with companies in clinical trials to move their clinical documentation to electronic records.  When the drug development pipeline slowed dramatically in 2009, he began work on the CorrStat technology developing the CorrStat’s software and user interface over the past 3 years.  In 2014 he spun off WaveFront Health Technologies, INC.

Michael began his career as a software engineer at Bell Laboratories and has worked in various engineering, marketing, and management positions for such major corporations such as ATT Bell Laboratories, Siemens, Fujitsu, Racal, Applied Digital Access (ADA), SimpleTech and WaveFront Clinical Management Services. He was the Executive Director for a Los Angeles based streaming media start up named World Streaming Networks which was the first attempt at a streaming media network.
While at these companies, his leading edge designs solved problems years ahead of their time. He has the distinction of being the first person to place a digital voice phone call over software that he created (Bell Labs 1988), and the first graphical user interface for generic router network management tools (Racal 1993), and he created the first browser-based network embedded protocol analyzer (ADA 1997).  The Network Embedded Protocol Analyzer was the first Internet-based product used in telephone switching offices.  While at Applied Digital Access he built and led a business unit with offices throughout the country and in Canada based on the NEPA product line.

In the 2010, Michael founded and has grown the Life Science & Technology HUB (LST HUB), a well-regarded Palm Beach County, Florida non-profit that is uniting the resources needed to grow the region’s life science and technology business ecosystem. BioFlorida joined with Michael shortly after he created the group as a Supporting Partner.  LST HUB now has HUBs operating in Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach and Michael is very involved in Florida’s life science business community.  He has given numerous speeches on life science and technology business economics at Scripps Florida, Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, and BioFlorida events.  He has given the keynote address for the "Biotech Breakfast at the Breakers" for the past 2 years, and he gave the keynote address at Max Planck’s 2013 "Neurons and Networking" seminar.

Michael has a BS in Computer Science from North Central College.
