MARKETS CLIMB AS WORLD FACES CRISIS
On August 28th, President Obama announced to the world “We don’t have a strategy, yet.” The following day, The Wall Street Journal published an extract from former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger’s forthcoming book, “World Order”. In this, Kissinger warns of pending crisis. The same day, as if reinforcing one of Kissinger’s conclusions on regional tensions, President Putin spoke of “Novorossyia”, or ‘New Russia’. Also on that day, the European Union appointed Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, a strong anti-Kremlin and Ukraine hawk, as the next President of the European Council.
